TopiCast: Topic Modelling for Decision-Making Insights from Baguio News Articles

This study, conducted by an 8-person team, suggests using a topic modeling model to extract decision-making insights from news articles about Baguio. The objective is to make it easier for decision-makers to comprehend the primary issues and problems facing the city in a specific timeframe.As a proof of concept, the team created a web application that integrated the model and let users view topics based on news articles that are prevalent within a timeframe. These topics can be interpreted by decision-makers, who can then develop strategies in response. Using Python Flask for the backend and React.js for the front end
